NBBA INVITATIONAL - TC THUNDER BLUE

As the U13 season winds to close, the TC Thunder Blue squad travelled to San Ramon to take part in an invitational tournament with some top-ranked competition. In game one, the team matched up with an old rival, NBBA Smith. After a slow start, the Thunder rallied back to take a four point halftime lead. Another slow start in the second half, put the Thunder at a deficit once more, but the boys rallied again to take a five point lead with two minutes left. However, some questionable calls down the stretch marred any chance for an upset win and Thunder boys fell by a 47-43 margin. Hekili Jordan paced the Thunder Blue squad with 21 while Ramon Barragan added 8. Coming off an exhausting game one, the Thunder got no help from the schedule and had to immediately play another top ranked program in ASA Prime. Predictably, the Thunder were not at their best and managed only six first half points. Despite a better second half, the team could not struggled with ASA Prime defense and ultimately dropped a 39-22 decision. Hekili Jordan again led the Thunder with a mere 8 points points. In the final game of the day, the Thunder faced the San Ramon Wildcats. Despite falling behind by eleven points to start the game, the team dug deep and fought back to win 53-38 in a tougher than expected battle from a hot-shooting Wildcat squad. Ramon Barragan led the scoring in the final game with 15 points, while Tyler Lynch and Monty San Juan each chipped in 8.
